Specimen Barbel and Chub!
Last year proved to be one of the most challenging we have had here. Like most of the country we too had more than our fair share of problems with the summer floods. However when the floods were gone some of our anglers did very well, most notably Stephen Keer had 3 barbel over the 15lb barrier. Site Manager Simon Wrigglesworth with a personal best of 14lb 2oz.

season ticket holder Simon Francis managed an outstanding nine doubles early in the season when river conditions were spot on with plenty oh high water flowing.

This was backed up by some really excellent chub fishing throughout the season, with specimens exceeding 6lb and the odd fish over 7lb being reported by guests in the lodge.
Certainly our guests staying in the lodge had a cracking time catching quality Barbel and chub. With the growth rates of these Barbel we cant wait to see what the river will produce this coming season, you can bet that everyone will be keeping a close eye on the conditions to see if we can better last season. River sport is restricted to anglers staying in our self-catering accommodation in the lodge and river season ticket holders. There is a waiting list in place for permits but a few are realised each year so it is well worth sticking your name down on the list.
